Success Stories

What We Offer

Our educational therapy approach is designed to enhance cognitive functions, improve learning strategies, and foster flexible thinking. Our goal is to help students become stronger, more confident thinkers. Rather than focusing exclusively on academic subjects, we teach clients essential thinking skills that can be applied in all areas of learning and daily life.

Coaching Strategies

  • Good Study Habits: For some students, we provide coaching in effective study habits, including daily check-ins to help track academic assignments.
  • Comprehensive Cognitive Skills Programs: For others, we implement complete cognitive skills programs, such as the Feuerstein Cognitive Enrichment or Tactile/Kinesthetic approaches, tailored to their unique needs.

Materials and Programs

We develop individualized programs that may include resources from the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) and the Feuerstein Institute, among others. Students engage in fun, step-by-step activities designed to build vital skills, including:

  • Problem-solving
  • Information organization
  • Attention to detail
  • Planning ahead

A trained therapist guides each student through activities, asking thought-provoking questions and assisting them in discovering more effective ways to approach challenges. This program has proven effective for children with learning differences, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other challenges—but it is also a powerful tool for any individual looking to enhance their learning capabilities.

Testimonials

“Life changing! Those two words are the best way to describe the difference in Martha. Anne invested in her as a person. She helped Martha make basic and essential neurological connections we wondered if she would ever make. She also taught her to problem solve and she did it with patience and perseverance. Martha would not be the competent, confident person she is if she did not receive the equipping Anne provided. Anne we would recommend you again and again!”
“Thanks for all you do. We know N is so much more prepared to enter school than she ever would have been without your help.”
“My homeschooled teenage son Luke has benefitted so much from Anne’s NILD therapy over the last two years. As one would expect, the therapy has focused on the skills that are the most frustrating for him, but Anne has relentlessly pushed him forward little by little. She is patient and fun for him to work with, but also very persistent regarding the details of the program and his efforts during class and with homework. If work was not getting done, she always carefully investigated the reason with me, and we made the necessary adjustments. Although she always encouraged Luke to work past his frustration, she also looked for therapeutic ways to handle every hurdle, such as changing the way letters are formed, or using a special pencil grip. Overall, he has gone from resisting reading, struggling to write sentences, and failing to follow multi-step instructions to reading fluently, writing essays of several paragraphs, and being less easily frustrated with various mental tasks. He has also been able to successfully join a music program at a local university, which I attribute to the skills he has gained through Anne’s work with him.”
“Ian’s writing has improved so much in both organization and in content.”

Success Stories

Our coaching services have positively impacted numerous students. Here are a few examples:

  1. Kevin: A middle school student with attention difficulties, Kevin often forgot to submit his homework and struggled with managing large projects. He met with his educational therapist online each morning, where they focused on keeping track of assignments, creating project plans, and establishing effective study habits that will serve him well throughout life.
  2. Blakely (11): Frustrated with her academics, Blakely enrolled in a comprehensive, three-hour weekly NILD educational therapy program. This program helps students with dyslexia by strengthening essential cognitive skills—such as memory, attention, sequencing, and auditory-visual integration—while simultaneously improving reading, spelling, and comprehension.
  3. Martha (75): A senior citizen recovering from a stroke, Martha participated in a full Feuerstein program. This approach helps retrain and strengthen cognitive functions affected by brain injury, such as attention, memory, problem-solving, sequencing, and flexible thinking. Through structured exercises, the program promotes neuroplasticity, facilitating mental skills recovery essential for daily tasks, communication, and independent living.
  4. David (17): Diagnosed as “twice exceptional,” David has an uneven learning profile that includes both academic struggles and a high IQ. He grapples with attention, processing speed, organization, and flexible thinking. His instructor is guiding him through a complete Feuerstein Cognitive Enrichment program, concentrating on underlying cognitive functions—like problem-solving, sequencing, comparison, categorization, and metacognition—to help him leverage his strengths while addressing his challenges.

Our executive functions and cognitive skills coaching services provide a pathway to improvement and empowerment, offering comprehensive support to individuals striving to enhance their cognitive abilities and achieve their personal and academic goals.
